If you’ve selected a white with warm and sandy undertones, opt for earthy tints elsewhere in your bedroom to ensure a colour palette with a neutral look. If you’ve picked a crisp, more brilliant white, layer in more saturated splashes of hue. Bold blues are ideal for a nautical vibe, while pinks and yellows with black accents are perfect for a Scandinavian style.  

3. The white bedroom: Find the right furnishings

If you want your bedroom to have a cosy and inviting appearance, rather opt for weathered, whitewashed finishes with linen-covered chairs. 

The one element to beautifully anchor all the elements in your white bedroom is a rug. Just be sure to pick one in the right size so that it doesn’t look out of place.

4. The white bedroom: Strike a balance

When styling your white bedroom, the urge will always be there to stay in line with the soft colour palette – fight it! A bright pop in a neutral space goes a long way! Keep the 60-30-10 rule in mind to strike the perfect balance.

• 60% of your room is made up of the primary colour palette (in this case, white) which covers the largest surfaces like floors, walls, ceilings, etc.  

• 30% is the secondary colour palette, reserved for furniture and soft furnishings. 

• 10% is your accent colour which can be made up of one focal piece (like artwork or cushions).

5. The white bedroom: Pick the perfect artwork

If your bedroom is very busy with lots of accessories and furnishings, one oversized piece of artwork is enough. But when it comes to bedrooms that are either lacking in interesting architectural features or have one focal piece which grabs all the attention (like an exposed brick wall) a gallery wall can work wonders.
