The conceptual mood board for Ralph Lauren Home’s new Modern Penthouse collection was one of luxuriously urbane standards. Layered with snapshots of Manhattan’s skyline and an image of a fashion model buttoned up in a neatly tailored, tuxedo-inspired suit, its shadowy leather and shearling swatches also stood out.

Other elements of the mood board were inspired by Ralph Lauren’s own Fifth Avenue penthouse apartment. That’s fitting, considering that the 17-piece collection itself was designed as a masterful coming-together of modern and Art Deco aesthetics. Its medley of styles is perhaps best illustrated by the Emery desk. An elegant rosewood frame and cabriole legs nod to exaggerated shapes of Art Deco style, while its black leather top adorned with silver edging is sensibly sophisticated. Throughout the collection, a dynamic play of materials continues—evidenced in a nightstand supported by an acrylic base and a bookcase with sleekly tiered black lacquered shelves.

The Modern Penthouse collection’s seating selections are particularly memorable. Included in this subset are the svelte and shapely Pryce occasional chair and the Parker dining arm chair, which features a channeled leather seat reminiscent of the inside of a 1955 Mercedes Benz 300 SL. That same quilted style can be spotted on the collection’s effortlessly cosmopolitan Parker bed. Below, take a look at highlights from the line.
